High 90s this week. AC died 2 hours ago. Called Cool Air expecting to be told it would be a couple of weeks before they could service my unit. Bill's wife said that he's in my neighborhood and would come over within the hour. One hour later he was here. 30 minutes after that my account unit in working perfectly. This company is amazing! We learned a lot on how to maintain our HVAC system, and they came so fast and accommodated us in their already busy schedule. We had a leak in our system, and needed the capacitor replaced. He had both handy, which means we didn't have to wait to get parts or frion! The owner is honest, doesn't upsell you for things you wouldn't need, and him and his team give advice on best practices to prevent further damage to your system. I have worked with Cool Air Technologies for many years now. Bill and Larry installed new units for me in 2015 and have performed repairs and tune ups ever since. I appreciate Bill’s straightforward style, integrity and expertise. Recently, my upstairs A/C stopped blowing cool air. I called, spoke to Trish and received exceptional care. Bill and Larry came out later the same day thanks to a timely cancellation and repaired our system. I slept great last night with working A/C. The service rep was very knowledgeable.  The Cool-Air Tech  bid was about half of the other service provider we had contacted. The installation proceeded smoothly and professionally. Of course, my a/c went out during a week of 100 degree weather. After receiving an  outrageous estimate for replacement from a company I'd worked with in the past, I started my search for a reputable company with realistic solutions. I narrowed my choices down to two companies.  I called Cool Technologies first since they were listed locally & my research indicated I'd be dealing with knowledgeable, conventional, realistic people with a long standing reputation. Trish McIntosh answered my call & my questions & assured me that my problem would be solved by people who would offer the best resolution, as well as having years of experience & would be willing to answer any questions I may have before & after the job was done. Bill McIntosh came within a couple of days, thoroughly checked out our situation & sent a straightforward, simple, yet detailed estimate that evening.  He gave us time to check it out, then upon accepting the proposal, quickly scheduled the installation. Raphael & Marco were the very professional installers who efficiently & effectively got the job done within a day. So far the unit has been a blessing. It's simple to use & works like a charm. Bill came out to see what was wrong with our air conditioner.  Withom 5 min, he figured it out  and offered an inexpensive fix.  The unit is only 9 years old, and needed a compressor.  Once we turned it on it was COLD.  He also assisted us with our vents to have even better air flow.  Bill was a pleasure to work with, I would highly recommend this company.

The service is excellent !  I called regarding my furnace not working and Bill called me back within 10 minutes and was able to come the following morning and fix the problem, on New Year’s Eve !! The AC system at our new house was not well taken care of, and the old ducting from the 70s utilized asbestos insulation.  Contacted Trish and Bill for an assessment of the system and to quote for (at minimum) an abatement/reduct service. Trish was a pleasure to talk to over the phone and Bill was a straight shooting, no-nonsense old school guy, which I appreciate.  His assessment was that most of our HVAC system was nearly outdated but serviceable. I pestered him with a bunch of questions during his initial visit and he gave me a fair quote. I felt comfortable moving forward and we booked the abatement and HVAC service on consecutive days. We ran into a slight hiccup during the service but that is inevitable when it comes to renovations. Bill communicated appropriately and we wrapped up the project the following day. The work was clean and the team was pleasant to the wife and baby while working on our system. We had a positive experience with Cool Air Tech. They were extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and were able to determine the problem with our air conditioner very quickly. We had another company come out prior to him and they recommended getting a whole new unit. Bill was able to diagnose that we needed a new motor. I have been using Cool Air Technologies for over 10 years.  Bill and his crew are honest, technically proficient, polite and punctual.  They installed my central air and heating, and have been here every few years to ensure the system remains optimal.  The equipment they recommended has been efficient and trouble free and certainly was towards the bottom of the cost range.  Their installation and ducting was so well done that other contractors I have used noticed the work quality and asked for contact info. I strongly recommend Cool Air Technologies.  Around 2012, I called another company to check my HVAC system when I moved into my condo. The technician said the HVAC was about to break and that I'd get a discount on a replacement if I signed with them that day. With that suspicious pressure tactic, I said no and tried Cool Air Technologies.  Bill came out and said nothing was wrong with it even though it wasn't a new system. He said just keep using it until it breaks and he'd  replace it then. Even though Cool Air Technologies has been checking my HVAC system for over ten years, Bill never tries to talk me into getting a new system. He just came today and said it's still working great. The system is 24 years old! When it does need to be replaced, I'll definitely have Cool Air Technologies install the replacement. I trust them to be fair and honest.

I first used Cool Air Tech Air Conditioning and Heating in June of 2024 for a rental house of mine.  I found them on Angi's List, now called Angi. They installed a heating and air conditioning system.  The tenants love the unit they installed.  Their price was in the ballpark. They came when they said they would, and the system has worked just fine since it was installed. This week, I helped an elderly neighbor find someone to replace her system which had failed.  They came when they said they would, did a good job, and installed the same unit that my tenants were so happy with.  Bill, the owner, installed a smart thermostat for me, and it works just fine. Cool Air Tech's prices are reasonable, they show up when you expect them to, and they sell you excellent products.  His wife, Trish, who runs the office, is also very friendly. Very pleased with Bill/Cool Air Tech's work and attention to details.  Our furnace went out in January 2024, and Bill responded quickly to our need to get it replaced quickly.  Also at that time, we decided to install an AC unit.  Cool Air Tech took care of all the various details and directions needed for the electrician to complete that side of the job. A handful of years ago, Bill from Cool Air Technologies, came out and had our furnace and AC replaced. We were very pleased with the whole install. OK, now we added some substantial  sq. feet to our house and needed an upgrade for the additional footage to our home. Bill again came out and we went with the EQ he suggested. The techs, Miguel and George, worked through the day and the install was complete. This crew was very professional and cleaned up like they were never there. Except for a very, very quiet system. I would have added the footage earlier if I knew the newer EQ was going to be so much more quiet and efficient. Again, thank you Cool Air Technologies. This is a five star company to say the least. We just had a new HVAC system installed in our home in Aliso Viejo. The contractor was Cool Air Technologies, Bill McIntosh, (714)863-0626. We were very impressed with the new unit put in the attic and back yard, the workmanship, the professionalism, the quick response time to get our appointment, the testing of the new units before they left, the lessons for us on how to use it, and the complete clean up and hauling every piece of the old unit away when they left. I just bought a house and the AC unit and furnace were the originals from 1983 and inoperable. I requested a few quotes and Bill came out from Cool Air the next day. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and provided the most detailed quote. I chose Cool Air because I felt like I knew exactly what I was paying for and would not be surprised with additional costs. I also mentioned wanting a smart thermostat and he made a recommendation. They scheduled me right away and the installation went seamlessly and they even installed my smart thermostat. Bill came by afterwards to walk me through proper maintenance and warranty information. Bill McIntosh and Larry came out for a second opinion on my AC repair. They were very professional and completed the needed repair. They were honest in telling me that I would probably need to replace the entire unit sometime soon, but did not push to have it done right now. They replaced only what was necessary, and saved me $800 from what the 1st company was going to charge me! He showed me which filters to purchase and the recommended replacement time frames. My elderly dad’s heating went out Christmas night, so after checking Angies List, I called Cool Air Technologies the next morning. I first spoke to Trish who was wonderful and assured me that they would try to get someone out that afternoon. By 2:20, Bill had arrived at my dad’s house, and was calling me back to verify that a new thermostat was needed and installed! Their service was excellent-and I was so grateful for their concern and personal attention in getting the heating fixed in such a timely manner! Bill and Trish exceeded the expectations I had from the start. Trish is so pleasant to talk with that you forget quickly you are asking for a service and not talking to a friend. Bill is a craftsman who has many years of experience and he gets right to the point of where your problem lies. In our case the tune up for the summer was not realistic when our 30 year old AC unit had leak issues. Bill and I worked through several scenarios regarding cost of a repair and an investment in a new unit. It made sense to do a new unit and not worry about our old AC unit further breaking down and requiring more repair. Bill and Trish advised us of a cancellation that allowed the new AC unit to be installed 3 days after the service call. Bill and Trish followed through on their quote, and arrival time for installation on time. Everything I was told with a time frame was on time,accurate, and made sense to what I was receiving. Raphael and Nisho were assigned my install and they were no different regarding their punctuality and care for our house. Bill and Raphael took me through the complete process of what would be done and when the project would be finished. Raphael and his crew treated my house well making sure to drop cloths down everywhere they worked. I could not tell they did anything because of the cleanliness in which they worked. The job was made easier as Raphael helped me to clear the work area I was supposed to clear. I was running late in clearing and Raphael helped me to clear the area without complaining or having me do it on my own which was my job. After the installation Raphael walked me through our new AC and also provided valuable recommendations on how to take care of our new unit. What I must stress is everyone from Cool Air Technologies goes above and beyond what they need to in making sure you are 150% satisfied. Raphael helped me pick quality new air filters for our AC on Amazon to make sure we knew exactly what to purchase. Bill followed up that afternoon to ensure I was satisfied and encouraged any questions I might have. The AC unit performs exceptionally. The old unit if I turned it on in the afternoon to cool the house it could only drop the temperature by a degree or 2. Our new unit brought the temperature down from 78 in the house to 74 degrees in less than an hour. We still have 30 year old ducts and vents that do not allow the best air flow so this is a great improvement. Bill installed a new AC that cost me $3,000 less than what I was quoted 2 years ago from another company. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the service provide by Bill, Trish and his crew. I love they are family owned and they have your best interest at heart when they come out and do a job for you. Please use Cool Air Technologies for your service needs. I LOVE my new system!!! It is so powerful but surprisingly quiet. I chose Cool Air Technologies after 5 bids. Bill did the most thorough assessment of my current set up. The replacement equipment he recommended was less expensive than the other bids (by $2,000-$10,000). The installers were beyond competent and efficient. They removed the old equipment and left no debris from all the work they did. Bill explained use and maintenance of the system. He is knowledgeable and patient (answered all my questions) but he does not waste time. Wish I had called him first. If you enjoy high-pressure 2-3 hour sales presentations, go for it. I had a great experience working with Cool Air Technologies. Bill and Trish McIntosh are fantastic. Great personal service and super friendly. When I first met Bill, I explained to him that I had recently purchased a new home and was in the process of making some upgrades to my existing home so I could covert it to a rental. I didn't have any air conditioning so that was my priority but I was considering replacing the original furnace at the same time if the price made sense. However, I didn't want to invest in a high end system since I wasn't going to be living there myself. Bill quoted me a great price for the A/C and new furnace so it made financial sense to do them both at the same time. One of my other quotes was literally double for the same scope of work. Bill came in with his crew and they were professional and efficient and completed both A/C and furnace installs in about 7 hours, including running all new piping and electrical for the A/C. I would absolutely recommend Cool Air Technologies and the personal service that Bill and Trish provide and I will definitely be giving them a call in the future for my new home. The owner quickly diagnosed the problem with our old furnace, on Friday, and his workers quickly and efficiently installed the new furnace Monday morning. The workmanship was excellent, providing a much better installation than the original. They kept everything very clean, putting down tarps to cover all the carpeted areas (including the stairs), and vacuumed afterwards. Good communication skills. As can be expected my upstairs air conditioner failed during the hottest time of summer. I checked Angie's List and loved what I read regarding Cool Air Technologies. I made a call and spoke with Trish and within hours her husband and owner, Bill was calling me to say he was on the way. He was able to get my units running but could not guarantee that it would continue, due to the age of the units. I made the decision that I would replace both air conditioners and the furnace in the attic. Fortunately everything continued to work thanks to Bill and got me through until they came on Aug. 17th, the guys showed up not only on time, but early, ready to work. It was a three day job and for the first time in 24 years I had air conditioning that actually worked so well that the 2 upstairs bedrooms actually got cold. Bill, Trish & the guys made this experience so much easier then I ever expected. Work was done every day, they cleaned up every day they were kind, professional and experienced. There were also some unexpected things that needed to be fixed and or upgraded and those were all done at no extra charge. I called them based on reviews on Angie's list. They were very responsive and quickly came over to look at our older air conditioning unit that was not working. They said that while they could repair, it was better to replace it with a new one because the unit was too old and repairs could not carry warranty. We agreed. The price quoted was reasonable. Richard and a co-worker did the work. They replaced both the AC and furnace units (Trane) with TempStar. Overall, we found Cool Air team to be professional and knowledgable. We have not yet used the AC given the weather has been nice but we will in summer for sure! There is 1 year warranty on labor and 10 years on the unit.

This is a follow up job to the original HVAC installation that they performed for me four years ago. Since Cool Air Technologies keeps their operations small, they don't use any temp labor so the same two installers showed up for the job that installed my original system. This is a good thing. They are very good. They were prompt and their work was excellent in all respects. These guys really know what they are doing and they take the time to do it right. They even patched up a hole in my ceiling that was created when I had a light removed recently. The final price was precisely what they quoted me. I have had a really excellent experience with this company in every way. Around every two years they come to my house to perform a very thorough system check that takes around an hour to ensure that everything is still working fine. Thus, I basically don't have to worry about my HVAC system since I have them keeping my system current. Can't recommend these guys enough.

Beautifully! Total pros. Very responsive... came the next day after I called. Reasonable inspection charge, and then Bill fixed the problems (three different problems had arisen to make sure I would have no chance of getting it going myself. The tiny extra cost to do the minor repairs was beyond fair, but more important, it was honest. I had not a clue what was required. Rather than take advantage of my ignorance to sell me a bill of goods, Bill simply fixed it for a pittance. He is my HVAC guy for life (and since I am a RE Broker, for my clients, too!). If I summed it up in few words, those words would be fair, responsive, effective, quick, honest & personable (Bill and his wife, who works the office, both!). Total pleasure dealing with such a pro. Great ! Works like a Charm ! Full disclosure, I first found and used this wonderful AC/Heating Company when this company was highly recommended to us and had A+ Awarded , with the HIGHEST Awards on "Angie's List". At that time we had some past issues with our indoor central air heater (also used this company for yearly winter safety inspections) , this time today our outdoor AC unit was on the blink (slow R22 leak, and valve repairs, and if you have an old R22 Freon gas unit, you know or quickly find out how very, very expensive R22 Freon gas is and hard to come by. I called their office, we got a prompt appointment and gave us a time frame, and they came out right on time. . Bill McIntosh, The Owner came with a Great Co-Worker, and determine what was wrong, had the needed R22 Freon AC replacement gas & fixed my slow leak and damage valve, without any sales pressure in buying a new AC from him. Bill told us, that luckily the repair & R22 should last a few more years, then call him for a new replacement as he very good deals on AC and Heater new replacements. (Yes We Diffidently Will) Just a short note, we had another company come to our house ( Air Concepts out of Anaheim, Calif, prior to calling Cool Air Technologies to get prices on repairs, as the AC seemed to me to be off. Even though they were very professional over the phone and the sent out AC Tech, he price quoted a charge of over $800 dollar just to replace the R22 Freon Gas ! and over $1200.00 dollars to make the repairs and add R22 Freon Gas! WOW ! , Yikes ! Let's just say Bill & Cool Air Technologies came out, determined what was wrong and price quoted me (unless there were other found new issues during inspection) us $775.00 dollars to fix repairs and add R22 Freon gas! that's like 50% OFF !! WOW , and the AC works GREAT! . (A Happy Wife for a Happy Life) Thanks again Bill and Co Worker, & Cool Air Technologies We will defiantly use you and your company again ! After calling around trying to get someone to come out on the weekend to give us a quote to replace our original AC and Heating unit. After several failed attempts I got two quotes. One from a company we were going to go with until we met Bill from Cool Air. He was very professional and explained things about his quote and talked about how long it would take to get the project completed. Compared to the other company we found Bill to be very professional and also highly regarded on Angie's List which also was a good reference for us. So we decided to go with Cool Air Tech. We set up a date, they pulled the permit from the city for us and came to install everything. Total time to install was about 5 hours, which was very quick. His crew was professional as well and explained everything to us. They cleaned up after themselves and left. When it came down to the HERS testing day, we noticed the motor was making a very loud noise. I called Bill, left him a message and he called me back in 10 minutes. I told him the HERS tester was coming today and he said he'd be there right away. An hour later he was at my door. He looked at the until and to his surprise, it was determined it was a bad motor. While we passed the HERS test, we still needed the motor replaced. Standing by his work and the product he sells he apologized over and over again and said he would get a replacement motor in the next day or so. That was a Saturday afternoon, come Monday morning he called and said he could install the new motor in a few hours if I was going to be home. I went home for lunch to meet him and 20 minutes later the motor was installed and everything was perfect. That was at the end of May and since then we've ran the AC constantly for almost 2 months now and it runs great. I would refer Cool Air to anyone looking to replace their AC or heater. I called the Cool Air Tech after hours and the call was returned immediately the next morning. Despite the heat wave, they were able to schedule a visit for later that morning. Great job from beginning to end. I feel like I got a good product for a reasonable price. They were very accommodating with time for the job. They came exactly when they promised they would. They didn't try to upsell me in any way as some others had done. They suggested I could upgrade my ducting but it wasn't necessary. Due to our budget, we left out upgrading our ducts. They took the time to make sure we understood how everything worked from the thermostat to the ducts. Everything was done in one day and it's solid. Everything is perfect when dealing with Cool Air Technologies. For a start, not soon after I sent a message through Angie's List on Sunday night, I got a message back from Trish, who also followed up with a call on Monday. I set up a meeting with Bill for a quote last Thursday, and then the installation was done today. The installers, Lary and Richard, are meticulous in their work. They exhibit pride in their work and will not rush or leave until everything is perfect. They arrived right at 8am and worked through until 4:30pm without a break as they encountered a couple of issues along the way. They left leaving me confident that everything is shipshape and that what I have now is 100% better than what I had before thanks to their commitment to excellence. They are also personable and friendly and a pleasure to have in your house for the duration of the installation. This is the second time I have used Cool Air Tech. He was going to charge more and I started having a discussion with him about that. About if it was leaking then it was leaking from something that was a malfunction that should have been covered by the warranty. So, he cut the price about in half but it was still more than I thought was right. He had to put more gas in and he ended up charging me for the additional gas. I'm just guessing it's in the vicinity of 200 bucks and that's my experience. I wasn't real happy with them on this follow-up. I had a feeling that just about a year later it was having a problem. Now it hasn't had a problem since. We still had a discussion about the price after that. The original deal I graded then that it was good, when we first got it installed. Since they installed it, yes I would consider using them in the future. I wouldn't change horses in the middle of the stream. We have it now and I expect them to keep it up. It's been past most of the warranty. I think the compressor is warranted for 10 years possibly. As long as it's a warranty issue I would deal with them.

Bill had installed my new furnace and A/C about 2 years ago and did a great job. I called him up and told him about the issue. He came right out the next morning with his same guy Larry that put in my furnace and A/C. They knew what to do and knocked it out in less than 1 hour. Great job. Everything works and my home is warm again. My wife thinks I'm the hero. But it was all Bill! Ha, ha. I even got a discount for being an Angie's List customer. They were good. Potentially, I may use them in the future, but I did end up choosing one of the other companies that I got a quote from but it wasn't that Cool Air did anything wrong. They gave a good estimate, all the pricing that I got were all in the ballpark. It just came down to personal preference, we just kind of clicked with the other company and the people involved in it. Excellent. Totally professional from the start. Inspection and diagnosis was spot on by Larry. Options offered made sense so I decided on replacing the system which was 21 years old. On arrival, Larry and Richard wasted no time in doing what needed to be done. They were friendly yet professional, explaining every step as they went along. After completion they assured that everything was operational and briefed me on how the system worked as well as how to keep it running smoothly and efficiently. These guys are definitely top notch! They said the part was not available and I needed new furnace and AC unit. They quoted new furnace and AC. I asked for just new furnace, which they quoted, but they said they couldn't guarantee it without new AC. Their furnace quote alone was twice what I received from another very reputable Heating and AC contractor. This company apparently charges about twice what the going rate should be for this type equipment. I paid $85 for the service call and had the furnace replaced by another contractor for half of this company's quote. It really pays to get more than one quote.

One of our air conditioners weren't working at all for quite some time. I called the company, scheduled an appointment, very and courteous on the phone. Bill showed up on time, very professional and checked the unit, told us it was just blown fuse. I honestly was expecting him to tell us, the whole unit was to be changed. It was refreshing to see the owner and a 20+ year staff member take care of our heater check. Bill's work was thorough, quick and professionally performed. We were not training a new hire and there were no recommendations for unnecessary new services or equipment. As a result we have used Cool Air for separate A/C services. It went well. We forgot about doing a review. 2 gentlemen came, Bill, the owner, and Larry worked on repairing the unit. Our unit is 16 years old. Bill advised that the "long-term charcoal" filter we had purchased from another contractor was not good, in fact considered a terrible filter, & gave us advice on better filters. My experience with Cool Air Technologies was great! I highly recommend them. We had two men come out (I'm bad with names, but I think one was Bill) ON TIME! and both were very knowledgeable and explained every step to my husband so that he could understand what they were doing. They gave us tips to help us maintain our HVAC system better, as well as outside websites for purchasing extra filters in bulk. They did not try to oversell anything or make us do unnecessary fixes, and they were reasonably priced (around the nation avg. price). I was told a tech would be out between 12 pm and 4 pm. Bill called me prior the appointment, and was here by 12:10 pm. How often does that happen? I couldn't be more satisfied with his expertise. He got my unit up and running, and walked me through all the areas I can check myself to avoid future problems. Great job, guys!! Everything went great. The people that Bill sent to replace our AC and Furnace were very polite and punctual. They laid down something on the floor to make sure they left as little a mess as possible and so that their ladder didn't make any marks. Bill went through everything with us before they came over as far as what was going to be done. They replaced our old ducts that were flaking and smashed in certain sections for an extra cost. He also suggested I get an extra vent for the living room which made sense because it only had 1 and it was much bigger than the other rooms. With 2 it now cools down much quicker. I have used Bill before to help me fix my aging AC for the past few years, we finally took his advice and replaced it. He would tell us that he could fix it, but it would be like putting brand new parts on a lemon car. Like he said, our old AC unit would break down every time it got really hot. This new AC unit works like a champ. He even gave us a website where we can get AC filters cheap. He said to make sure we replace it every 3 months or the unit will work harder that it's supposed to. After having Bill work on my AC for the first time way back when, his company is the only one I now trust when it comes to AC and Furnace. His price won't be the cheapest, but it will be competitive and I dare you to find a more honest person in this business.

My Forced Air Heater stopped heating. The fan would go on when set manually from the thermostat, but would not go on when the temperature in the room dropped. The heater never came on. I made an appointment with Cool Air Technologies because of reviews in Angie's List.. Two guys came out. Both were very friendly. There was good communications. They phoned before starting out and told me what they were doing at every step of the procedure. One made tests on the heater and the other tested from the thermostat. They quickly determined that the igniter was no longer working and replaced it. Before leaving the person testing the thermostat, noticed that it was coming loose from the wall (It had been for some time) and tightened it so that it now sits flush against the wall. Received quotes from 3 companies. All were in a few hundred dollars of each other. I chose Cool Air not on price but because as an engineer I felt that Bill was giving me the best information about what should and shouldn't be done. The job went exactly as planned. Ducts and asbestos removed day one. Equipment installed day two. New ducts installed day three. Everything works as planned and the city inspector signed off today (11/17/2015) - good to go. They did not charge me for anything since I didn’t need anything done. When I called they set up the appointment right away, they were here on time, and the guy that came out told me things to do to keep the upkeep on the furnace. They also saved me $1700 that the other company wanted to charge me. They were just fantastic! Called same day in the middle of September with daily temperatures ranging from 90-100 F. I had called 5 other companies and was told their next appointment wouldn't be until 2-3 weeks. Not only did I call Cool Air Technologies at 10:00 am, they were here at 12:00 pm to fix our AC unit. Bill was professional and courteous. The first company was sent by our home warranty company. They made two visits and could not fix the problem. After striking out twice, I reached out to Cool Air Technologies. The tune up went fine. I have used them in the past and like their friendliness and service. My system is almost 15 years old. They have mentioned that I could get a lot of energy savings with a new system. just after the service we blew a capacitor on the compressor. He came back the next week to replace the capacitor and gave me 30% off since it occurred just after the servicing. Then a week later the fan capacitor blew and he had to come back to replace that on and only charged for the part. I called to schedule a repair for our air conditioner, which was not working. Bill came-out the next morning and determined that the real problem was with the 20-year-old furnace and peripherals, that should have been changed with the new air conditioning system that was installed 3 years ago. The change in the coolant now required by law was incompatible with the furnace and motor, and we were not told that when the air conditioner was replaced. The furnace replacement was scheduled for today. The installers were here promptly at 8:00 am, and although I though it would take a full day, all of the work was completed, including the visit to City Hall to pull a permit, by noon! The air conditioning is now on, and working better than it ever has. I received a very fair estimate. We're selling the house later this year, and didn't want any unnecessary bells and whistles. Bill didn't try to "sell us up." The employees were friendly, professional, competent, and well-organized. they relocated the pump and put in a pipe that would make cleaning it out easier if it gets clogged. They checked the condenser on the roof, and the coils, and tested everything carefully before they left. It was about time to have a tune up on our A/C and after some searching around we decided to go with Cool Air Tech Inc. They were great from the beginning from scheduling a day for them to arrive to getting the job complete. The guy they sent us was a total professional arrived on time and never kept his attention away from the job. Cool air technologies is excellent. I called on tues and they were out by wed. Bill came out within the window of time that was promised to me and he was knowledgable, professional, and kind. The air conditioner wasn't working the previous day but upon his arrival it seemed to be working fine. I told him that the master bedroom didn't seem to get cool and he went up into the attic and discovered that the duct was facing towards the attic and not the bedroom, so he fixed that. He also moved all the vents to face downwards which made all of the rooms instantly cooler. Bill was genuine and courteous at all times and even learned my name. The price was reasonable. My first telephone call was answered in a timely manner and an appointment was scheduled within 2 days. Current temperatures have been very hot, so I considered this to be a very good turnaround time. The window of time for the appointment was 2-6pm and the repairman would call half an hour before arrival. Bill called, showed up, quickly found the problem (wiring was faulty), fixed it, and verified the AC was working properly, prepared an invoice with the Angie's discount. He provided some great tips (such as type of filter to use, type of vent covers to maximize air flow, and size of AC unit for our home) to help maximize our old AC Unit to save some money on our electricity during the hot months. He is courteous and very knowledgeable about his industry. He did not pressure us in buying a new AC unit since ours was 17 years old. He gave some good recommendations about the size and cost for a new AC unit in the future. I can see why a lot of people like his company and has had a great rating on Angie's List. Bill came out to do our estimate and was very informative about our options to replace our a/c condenser unit that hasn't worked in years. He gave us options about what to use to replace the unit from the "extremely green and efficient" unit to the "this will get the job done for a reasonable price" unit. When we scheduled to replace the unit, Richard and Larry were punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable. They arrived right on schedule and had all the necessary equipment to get the job done efficiently. They were sure to protect our home from the dirt and grime associated with the job. Cool Air Technologies is a great HVAC company to work with. Bill, the owner, came out to complete a routine tune-up on the AC system in the house we just moved into. He was courteous, professional and very detailed in the work he completed. Most importantly, this company approaches their work with honesty and integrity. There was a component in my system that needed replaced which Bill clearly showed me and he completed the needed repair at a reasonable cost. There was no attempt at selling me anything that was not needed despite my system being almost 20 years old. It is also important to mention that Bill eagerly returned to my house the same day to complete something that was forgotten during the original visit. I have done well with Angie's list recommendations, so I will give as full of a report as I can. Bill is highly responsive in the bidding process, answering all of my questions. His quotations were competitive, and the final bill I received matched the quotation exactly. I chose Cool Air since my research indicated that the efficiency a central air operates at is highly dependent on the manner in which it is installed, and this contractor had very high marks for install quality and service. The first advantage of Cool Air is that they only work one property per day. Richard and Larry were at my property both days at exactly 7:45, ready to go. They work straight through until they are done. In my case, there was a mis-communication about the thermostat they installed, but within 30 minutes Bill had delivered the appropriate unit and they stayed on to install it on the same day. Excellent service. Both Richard and Larry are in their 40's with at least 15 years of experience... so they know what they are doing. All of my installs went very smoothly and I was very impressed with the workmanship. At the end of the install, they very thoroughly went through the operation and maintenance of the unit, watching while they made you actually operate the system to make sure you understood. To best characterize their workmanship, I will give you an example: At the end of the second day, they were wrapping up the ducting job that they had performed. As Richard was coming down the stairs, I handed him my phone and asked him to snap a few pictures. My ducting job essentially looked like a large octopus, with each register receiving it's own duct tapped into the central plenum. There were no splits, tees or y's. Each duct was professionally strapped to the rafters to keep the lines as straight as possible. Please note that I received a fairly generic bid on the ducting. I did not receive the 'deluxe install'. The method of the install wasn't specified. The way they installed my ducting, having individual, independent runs is the absolute most efficient way to do it. This method will result in the most balanced distribution of air around the house with the least amount of pressure loss due to kinks, splits and bends. It is also the most expensive way to do it.. since this method uses the longest linear feet of ducting. (this is why other contractors split the lines... to save duct length and thus save money). So basically Cool Air Tech used the most efficient way to do the install, at the greatest cost to them, and if I hadn't asked them to snap some pictures, I never would have known. Also, I checked the actual ducting they were using, and it was very high quality, and also, at R6, was the more expensive of two options from that manufacturer. I don't know about you, but if you are going to drop $10,000 on a central air install, I would rather have people that do that level of work when no one is looking. I anticipate that within the next 12 months we will call Bill to replace our unit. We have worked with Bill many times over the past several years and find him honest, fair and responsive. Bill, the owner, and his lead installer, Larry were on time to the initial quote meeting. They were informative and knowledgeable. We agreed to a fixed price. And he came down some after I offered to pay with a cashier's check to save him some credit card fees. So, he is workable on the price. They subcontracted asbestos removal of attic ducting. The subcontractor was good. Bill pulled permits for everything and fronted those costs. The entire job was done as spec'd, and on-time. Larry and his co-worker, Richard, were friendly. They took care of my house and showed respect throughout the job. We are enjoying cool air now. We are happy with the job and the results. The price was a little higher than we originally planned for the project, but they did a lot, and I guess you get what you pay for. We are looking forward to lower electric bills. In the first experience above the first a/c tech was obviously on commission because he suggested some very expensive repairs including a new compressor. Bill came out and inspected and said the a/c unit was old but still functioning well. In the first experience above the first a/c tech was obviously on commission because he suggested some very expensive repairs including a new compressor. Bill came out and inspected and said the a/c unit was old but still functioning well. They were really booked up and didn't have an opening until after the Holiday but the squeezed me in which I really appreciated! They were friendly, clean, informative and fixed loose wires and had my Heater working in no time. They only charged me for the service call which was nice. They also educated me as to what needed to be fixed with the Unit soon and that I can expect the Unit to need to be replaced (as it's very old) soon. Heater broke; tried to get same day appointment with various repair companies, to no avail. Cool Air Technologies, got me same day appointment which made me very happy. They arrived exactly at 10 am, as agreed and repaired my unit successfully. Very professional, friendly and helpful. The cost of repair was very reasonable. They noticed that my thermostat on the wall was loose and fixed it without me even asking them. Of course we waited until it finally got cold to turn on the heater, and it would not turn on. I sent an email on Sunday via Angies List and was called back at 9:30 Monday morning. By 10:50 they were at my door! I was very pleased with this quick response - which was unexpected because I know they must have gotten tons of calls. The thermostat was a bit pricey, and $20 had to be added on because the footprint was smaller than my existing thermostat, and it would have needed touch-up paint. (and I didn't have any). So the thermostat price was $195. I thought that was a bit overpriced for a $50 thermostat, but it's done and I have heat and I'm happy. They had to mess with the heater to get it to work. Hard for me to understand exactly what they did, but they were here for an hour working on it, and then testing the system to make sure everything worked properly before they left. They also removed my filters so that I could replace them, which was a nice touch as they are in the ceiling - kind of a pain for me to get at them. There were two guys who came out, one was the owner, both nice guys and very polite. The total bill was $230 including the $20 AL member discount. UPDATE: Two weeks after they came in and "fixed" our heater, it stopped working again. I called them back and they came out and wanted $500 to replace the circuit board. I said I'd have to wait and discuss this with my husband. We were able to buy the circuit board online for $125 and it was easy to install ourselves. These guys are very nice and responsive, but I think their fees are too high. It took my husband, (who is handy but had never done this type of repair before) 20 minutes. I'm sure it would have taken the repair man less than that, and he probably was able to purchase the part at wholesale. So basically around $400+ an hour for repair?????

With my grateful permission, Bill and his assistant arrived early and zeroed in on the problem with our broken central A/C system within minutes. A broken capacitor was identified and replaced on the spot, and, after a few routine system checks the job was complete before he was even scheduled to arrive! We originally called Bill over a year ago for an estimate. With the heat this summer, we decided after 13 years without, it was time to invest in air-conditioning. We contacted Bill, as we were very impressed with his initial visit and estimation of all that would be involved. He had walked around the outside of the house with us and shown us where everything would be best situated in the small alleyway that we have alongside of the house. When we called him a year later, he honored the original price, even though it had expired, but did add a charge for a unit that was a step up from the original type of unit he had quoted us. Bill is all about a thorough, positive customer service, quality job. It is evident from the initial visit with him. He will spend any time needed educating the customer and answering any and all questions you may have. I kept expecting him to say, I have to get to my next customer.... but no. he is completely divested in each customer's experience. If you have to leave him a message, he replies immediately. His wife Trish, and assistant Cheryl, are very helpful and also very responsive. He gave us an install date immediately and his two guys came out and completed what was estimated for two days, in one. You wouldn't have been able to tell that they were even in our home at all, except for (which Bill noticed upon his return inspection), his guys didn't vacuum where they removed the original vents/grates. Bill said, I will have to mention that to them. We had a bit of drywall that came off when grates were removed, but if people have painted over them, I think this is to be expected. Bill offered to come and repair, to which we said that's okay... That's what you want. Things are bound to happen with contractors, they just do. It's the attitude and responsiveness when those things happen that is so key. Bill will take full accountability if by chance something happens or isn't quite as you'd expected or like. The only reason I gave him a 'B' in price, is because Bill is at the high end, after receiving quotes and listening to feedback from friends and family. However, how do you compensate for quality? Our air conditioner was starting to misbehave. Not wanting to wait until it failed completely in the middle of a heat wave, we called Cool Air Technologies. They showed up on time to walk down the system and prepare an estimate. We chose to go with a higher efficiency unit and the price was very good. Installation was set for three days later. The installers arrived on time and were very courteous. They removed the old system and installed the new system in about seven hours including breaks and hauled away the old system and other trash associated with the install. the new system is working great and is significantly quieter than the old. Although nothing was wrong with my A/C, I scheduled a maintenance visit simply because I have been using it a lot. The technicians showed up on time and remembered my home from the original A/C install two years ago. I was impressed! They hooked their monitoring tools up to the condenser and indicated that everything was OK. I assume that they would have topped off the coolant if it was needed. They were in and out in 30 minutes or so. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't change the filter, but they did let me know that the filter needs to be changed every 90 days or so. I did not realize that.They also would have charged another $90 if I wanted the heater serviced (I did not). Bill and Larry were able to check the unit and diagnose the problem within 10 minutes upon arrival. The compressor was no longer functioning and had to be replaced. They not only replaced the compressor, but cleared some of the overgrown shrubs and provided a quick tuneup of the AC unit while they were out. I had a leak in the condensate coupling. Bill came out, inspected, and gave me some advice. Otherwise, it would require the coil to be exchanged completely. He was very clean and even took off his shoes before walking on my carpet. He gave me a fair quote on the replacement unit. At the end, I wanted to pay him for his time, but he said ***NO CHARGE*** Got to know Bill a bit during his visit, and he seems like a very honest person. If you are reading this review, don't bother looking anywhere else. I did a lot of research for companies that cover north orange county, but by far Bill and Cool Air Tech are the best. Called at 1:30 because my tennants complained that the HVAC system broke that morning!!!! It's the middle of the summer and I'm sure it is a sauna and their whole family was in town - sh*t! So looked up this company on Angie's list and called. The customer service was perfect, end to end. It helped I was in Tustin but they had a guy doing a few other places that day and said he'd be there before the evening. Within hours, he showed up, told me what was wrong and the price, fixed it and left before the sun went down. This is same day service, and not for nothing I called them that afternoon. impeccable service, great work, pricing fair and my tenants said it is working better than before. My airconditioner just stopped blowing cold air in the middle of the week. I called to set an appointment and the call-taker was very nice and responsive to my needs. She was able to get us an appointment within two days, considering this is the busiest time of year for these type of companies. Bill arrived and immediately began troubleshooting the cause of the problem. He was extremely professional as I directed him to different areas of the house. One of my biggest fears with service companies like these is the fear of being ripped off or providing work that does not need to be done. He originally quoted me $425 and pointed out all the areas needing repair. However, he did some additional troubleshooting, repaired the problem and later told me the cost would only be $300. Needless to say, I was shocked and surprised since I had authorized the original cost of $425. Although there are some service industry professionals who do the right thing, I believe they are a dying breed as large companies take over the market. Not to worry, if you felt the way I did, look no further. Cool Air Technologies are not only professional and get the job done, they are HONEST. From the first phone call to the completion of service, this company is A+++. If I ever need an airconditioning repair company, I will not call anyone other than Cool Air Technologies. The provider took several days to return my voice mail message, but it was left leading up to the 4th of July weekend, and they phoned back the morning of July 7th. The office manager is the wife of the owner, and was very friendly, courteous, and polite. She scheduled an appointment for the next day. The owner arrived, on time, as scheduled. He was courteous and very neat in appearance. He asked what I was doing. He then opened up the area where my heat filter is located. He showed me that located above it, in the ceiling, was located a ceiling-mount air coil. Without running it, or inspecting the exterior heat pump, he told me that it would have to be replaced, and that it would run $10,000+, and that he didn't do those any more. I told him that the air actually blew when I turned my system on, but that it wasn't cool. He said that no matter what, they would both have to be replaced because of the type of coolant that was used not being made anymore. My neighbor just had their exterior unit replaced and his a/c and heat is working wonderfully. Perhaps the replacement of the exterior unit, while leaving a working but older interior unit, is not optimal or preferred -- from a longevity or HVAC technician standpoint. I appreciated his honesty that he didn't work on the interior units any more, but the replacement of the exterior heat pump seems to be all that is needed, at this point, to provide me with good quality air conditioning and heat, and if I can get several good years of fairly low-cost delivery of my system before upgrading to a system that uses an up-to-date coolant, at a more budget-friendly cost, that is fair. I respect that this company does not desire to replace one unit without the other. The owner apologized for wasting my time, shook my hand, and promptly left. I just found the provider's response, as I have been posting reviews. I believe that it is important to clarify a few things for other Angie's List members. Firstly, I hadn't had any difficulties with any other HVAC companies prior to contacting this one, aside from that it was difficult to get ahold of some of them, and to get things scheduled, understandably because it was their busy season, was HOT, and it was around the 4th of July holiday. I wasn't ill-humored during our interaction or unreasonable in any way (heat or no heat). The reason for my giving the company an overall rating of a "C," albeit other applicable items were enthusiastically awarded "A's," is because I was told by the owner of this company that I would need a new inside unit and outside unit even though the inside unit was working well, and he hadn't first inspected it, or ran it, nor had he inspected the exterior unit. For all he knew, the exterior unit just needed a cleaning or there was some other such minor repair needed. Due to the exterior unit having been installed in 1989, I was inclined to replace rather than repair it, but again, had it been inspected and an inexpensive repair needed, I'm sure I would have gone with the minor repair rather than a replacement. Nearly all of my neighbors in my condominium community are still happily and successfully using their originally installed systems. In conclusion, had I taken the owner's word on this matter, I would have remained without air conditioning as I could not have afforded 10,000+ dollars for the job. As it is, because I knew that neighbors that had HVAC work done had only replaced their exterior heat pumps, and had no problems, I got bids from other licensed HVAC professionals. All of them wanted the job, and none recommended replacing the interior unit that they determined was working well, blowing strong, and the duct work in good condition. I was able to enjoy an air conditioned home for around $3,000 within days. I appreciated all other aspects of my dealing with this company. I just believe this to be a very significant part of the experience because the information given was uninformed, incorrect, and had I followed the recommendations I would have had to spend 3 x what was required to correctly remedy the situation.

I don't even know where to begin. Bill, Larry and Richard are probably the best contractors I have had the pleasure to work with. I had at least five other companies out to look over our system and discuss our needs. Everyone gave me a different reason for our air flow issues, a different recommendation, and a fairly expensive bid. They ranged from $7000-$11000. Bill came to our house, looked at our system, spent time with us talking about our issues and needs, and then made his recommendations. He explained why some of the other suggestions were probably not going to work for us, and suggested that before we started cutting additional holes in our walls to create a larger return, we fix the original problem and see if the extra work would even be necessary. That sounded very reasonable to us. Larry and Richard were the installers who came to our home. They were kind, respectful, funny and careful. They laid down tarps in the house where they needed to work and covered clothes in the closet where our attic access is. They corrected the kinks in our ducting, replaced the furnace and replaced the air conditioning system. They arrived just before 8:00 in the morning (I was told they would be at our house between 8:00 and 9:00) and would have been finished by 1:00, except for a humming noise that seemed to occur when we ran the air conditioning system. I have never met contractors who worked harder to make sure that everything worked perfectly and to find a solution. Although the equipment they installed was working perfectly, in an effort to locate and solve the problem, they changed units, moved the unit, tied down lines, contacted the manufacturer and contacted other industry professionals to try to determine what was causing the noise. In twenty years in the business, none of the people involved in our job, or the people they contacted, had ever had the problem we were encountering. Apparently, we had the perfect storm of conditions. However, not only did they not give up, but Bill honored the original bid price and did not charge me for the extra days or time at my house or the different units they used to solve the problem. And they solved it! It is now whisper quiet and we are all very comfortable.

Although he figured out the problem within about 5 minutes, he went ahead and checked some other things on the unit to make sure everything was in good condition. He noticed a potential problem we may have down the road and mentioned it so we would be prepared. Our A/C is 16 years old so it would not surprise me if it's on its last legs. Our AC stopped working in the middle of a heat wave with temperatures over 100 degrees. We called three companies for repair and this company was the only one to return our call. Bill McIntosh, the owner of Cool Air Technologies, arrived on time. I explained the problem and, beginning at the furnace, he tested the unit's components until he found the blown transformer. He told me the cost of replacing it and did so after my okay. He subsequently checked the condenser and repaired the wiring, the cause of the blown transformer. Throughout the process, he was both friendly and professional, explaining the problems and resolutions. He also gave me an honest assessment of my 25 year old condenser, but did not try to sell me a new one. Instead, he told me that I might be able to get a couple more years of service from it. We had been using another company who we found on Angie's List had a 'B' rating and a lot of 'F's'. On two occasions when doing seasonal maintenance this company had tried to sell some very expensive services. On their last visit they reported the leak and quoted $1695 to repair plus another service for $595. We will not be using the former company again. Important lesson which was reaffirmed by Bill McIntosh------no one can make a living charging $49 or $59 for a 'tune up' or inspection. They will invariably find problems most of which are fictitious and charge big $$$$ to fix these problems. Cool Air charges $85 for a service call which allows them to make a profit without resorting to having to 'invent' unnecessary services. Incidentally they sell "Heil", a little known brand which we had in our former home for 16 years with absolutely zero service calls!

Out of every technician I have ever had work on the house, the Cool Air Technology crew was the most professional I have EVER dealt wit. If I could give them 7 stars I would. I did choose them from Angie’s List. I like the way they approached me when they first got out with the information of price. They came here on time. They stayed when the job was done. The furnace works out as they had indicated it would. I thought their service was very professional and they did a good job. I recommended him to other people. The price was higher than my other two resources and I don’t go by price alone but went with whom I thought would do a good job. Bill was great! I called on Monday, he arrived on Tuesday morning as scheduled - even called first to let me know he was on the way. The furnace was a mess! The last owner had big, hairy dogs and did not use a filter (who knew?) Bill removed chunks of gooey hairy stuff and cleaned everything that could be cleaned. Also made sure that the drain was clear, too. He cleaned up everything and instructed me on what size and how to change the filters. He was knowledgeable about the unit and assessed its overall condition as good despite the coil and drain issues we had. He tested everything and was out the door in an hour.

Called on a Friday to schedule an estimate appointment for Monday. Called me back to confirm before coming over. 2 people came over and took a loot around. Told me what I had (40+ year old fiber-board) and gave me an estimate to replace saying they could schedule me this week. I thanked them, asked them to give me a day and I'll let them know. Meanwhile, I called a few other places, most I couldn't get a real person. Another told me they didn't make appointments and another person would have to call back. That first impression is so important and that didn't impress me. I called Bill on Tuesday, asked he could do it Friday. He had to check his calendar, called me back and left a voice mail stating Friday is good. They arrived early before 8am, their scheduled time, and immediately went to work. They explained everything they were doing, asked about the placement of the new vents, and showed me what they were installing. I could tell by how dusty they were coming down from the attic how dirty the old ducts were. They took about 5 hours for the entire project. Were super respectful, easy to talk too, and most of, respected my dog that was a little nervous about all the action going on. The clean up was as if they were never here, except for the closest I had to clear out so they could access the attic. The new vents look as if they were then when they place was built 40 years ago. Before they left, I asked them a couple questions about my furnace and maintenance frequency. Unlike others, they did NOT push a maintenance agreement on me, or even talk about one! When we talking about filters, they seemed perfectly OK that I was ordering online, admitting it's less expensive, and gave me realist expectations of my unit. Highly recommended!

I called for a quote on a Thursday and Bill arrived the next morning. He was right on time, walked me through my options and gave me his recommendations. I received a total of three quotes and decided to go with Bill and his team based upon their responsiveness, overall price and reputation. I sent an email on a Saturday advising them I wish to replace and request their services. The unit was replaced in four business days. On the day of the installation, Bill arrived with is team (Larry and Richard) right on time and they were able to answer all of my questions. The instal took about 4-5 hours and the Larry and Richard were great folks. They were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They made sure that I was satisfied with all of the services and left my home just as it was, prior to arriving. I paid exactly what I was quoted and I am extremely happy. Called on Monday 1//6 and left voicemail that I wanted to schedule a service call for someone to look at my furnace that was not lighting up intermittently. Received a call back about 20 minutes later from Trish. Briefly discussed problem and scheduled for someone to come out Wednesday morning, 1/8. On Wednesday morning at around 8:30 am got a call from Bill telling me that he would be out later in the morning and would give me a call about 30 minutes before his arrival. Around 10:30 am, Bill called again and said he would be there in about 30 minutes. Bill arrived around 11 am, I briefly explained the problem and showed him where the access to the furnace was in the attic. He spent about 20 minutes up in the attic. When he came down, he said the heat sensor was very dirty... he cleaned it off and said we should be good to go. He said he would charge me $100 ( after a $20 discount for mentioning that I found him on Angies List). Bill was very professional and personable guy. From the start, Bill, his wife, and his team were all excellent. Very competitive bid, super friendly, helpful, courteous, clean, prompt efficient. Yes, all good! We had quite a few similar HVAC companies come out to provide bids. He ended up being both the least expensive, but while offering great service, great quality and a well done job. Larry and Richard handled the entire demo and installation of our new HVAC system. This was a two and half day process and they completed the work on time as described. They were always on time and always came prepared with the required materials and hardware. They were very careful to maintain a clean work site and made sure all of our hardwood floors were protected during construction. The finish quality of the work was exceptional. They took the extra time to caulk and clean all new connections and made sure the finish quality matched the originals. They added a disconnect box at the outdoor air chiller for added safety. At completion, they walked the entire system with me to make sure I was satisfied with the workmanship at every location. Larry spent time going over the operation of the system including both heat and air and included a programming training session for the thermostat. He also went through an explanation of how the system should sound during operation as it is MUCH quieter than our previous 40 year old system. Bill, the owner of Cool Air Technologies is Old School. He exhibits integrity and honesty in his quotation process and is NOT a high pressure salesman. It's all fact based information and you sense the confidence in his presentation. I called on Wednesday and told Bill my furnace was not coming on. I was informed of the service call charge but the charge is waived if Bill fixes the problem. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day and was given a four hour window. Bill called before he came and he came within the four hour window. Bill analyzed the problem and determined the furnace interface board was bad. Bill presented the options for fixing the problem. He left and returned with a new interface board, installed it and verified that the furnace was working correctly. Bill was pleasant, knowledgeable, honest and fixed my heating problem in a timely matter. The cost was reasonable and I am happy with his service. We noticed our A/C was not working properly. I called Cool Air Technologies and spoke to Trish. She was very friendly and professional. She said Bill happened to be in our area on another job and would be able to come by that same day. He came within an hour and diagnosed the problem right away. He replaced the capacitor and gave us some very helpful advice on how to maintain our A/C units to prolong their lives. Our A/C unit is running again and we are happy customers. Last December, the heater portion of our AC/Heater unit went out. Finally financially ready, we had Cool Air come out and replace it. They were early and efficient. They replaced the concrete slabs and AC/Heater unit. They painted a sealant on all of the outside ducts to prevent water damage and checked under the house to determine why one of our vents was not working. They replaced our thermostat and thoroughly explained how to use it. They even cleaned my washable air filter for me. Took approximately five hours for the replacement. At 9 PM, we discovered the pilot light to our water heater had gone out and could not get it lit. Cool Air was not able to come out immediately when the heat wave hit two weeks ago. Sue from the office called late that day, but we had contacted someone else. We agreed that Bill would come out at a later date to evaluate our need for a replacement. We know that a replacement is imminent, but we also learned that we overpaid the other service company and also were quoted a much higher price for a replacement unit. The other service company was a real hard sell. That is not Bill's approach and they are available within a reasonable timeframe when you need them. Found out it was a bad capacitor in both instances. Repair took 10-15mins. to replace part. Fast diagnosis and repair. Cordial and timely service. Owner-operated which is a plus. To be honest, I can't say that it was an "Excellent" price considering it took roughly 10mins of labor to replace a plug-in part found on the Internet for under $50. Bill McIntosh, the owner came the next day after I called. One of my five airconditioners had stopped working. Rats had chewed the wires where they go into the house from the unit. We have had problems in the past with rats getting into the walls, but didn't know how they were getting in. He fixed the damaged airconditioner, checked the other four units and sealed all the airconditioning wire holes to the house. I am very happy with his work. I called Cool Air Technologis becuase our thermastat display was not working, and felt that the air coming out of our AC unit was not getting cold enough. It had been about five years since we filled the AC with freon and thought it might be low. Cool Air Technologies came out to my house right on time and were completely prepared handle my problems. They explained why my old thermometer was not working, and promptly replaced it with a new one that was much better quality (and easier to use). Also, at no additional cost they checked the temperature of the the air coming out of my vents and showed me that in fact, it was working properly and no additional repairs were needed. They checked the freon for me, and let me know that the level was fine. Then they inspected all the wiring and external casing of my old AC unit and let me know that it still was working properly. I really appreciated their honesty and integrity. Also, they adjusted all the vents in my house so that the AC unit was working more efficiently. Now we can use less AC to cool down the house. When it comes time to replace our old AC unit I will definitely call Cool Air Technologies. I would highly recommend this company to everyone!

I can't say enough good things about these guys. They gave us a detailed estimate of work they would do. During the estimate, they pointed out several issues that our home inspector had also showed us (issues with the furnace installation and the electrical panel). They fixed all the furnace issues for us. They did exactly what we wanted as far as installing the ac unit. They also gave us some ideas for cooling our large enclosed patio without spending a fortune by adding ac to that room. While Richard was installing the condenser outside, he brought to our attention the fact that there was quite a bit of broken glass in the dirt (probably from when the previous owners installed new windows). Because we have a 2 year old in the house, he cleaned up as much of it as he could at no charge. It was just a really nice thing he did for us. After they were finished, Larry made sure all the nails and scraps of rubber and what-not were picked up all around the house, inside and out. Our air conditioner stopped working on a Friday and since it is about 20 years old, we expected the worst. We called Cool Air Technolgies and they set up an appointment for after 4:30 the following Monday. Bill called when he was on the way to our house and ended up spending about 90 minutes at our house inspecting the a/c unit and fixing problem (some wires had disconnected from the furnace causing the "outage"). I called for service on our broken air conditioner on a Thursday. They were able to schedule me for Monday morning which I felt was responsive as it was a very busy time of year. The professionalism / customer service I received over the phone was excellent. Everything was explained very clearly. The problem with the AC resolved itself over the weekend. I called and left a voice mail explaining that we did not need service at this time. They open at 8:30 am and my window was from 9 - 12. I was told I would receive a call about 1/2 hour before technician would show up. At 8:45 am he called to let me know he was on his way. I explained that I had left a voice mail that weekend but wasn't sure they would get it in time as they open at 8:30 am. The air conditioner didn't cool the house at first and we were real worried that the unit installed was not any good. They came back out and cleared the air conditioner of any problems, but determined that air flow was backing up in the distribution system decreasing the effectiveness of the unit. They checked the distribution lines in the attic which were good and then replaced the system's vent opening with new wider opening vent covers, which solved the problem. The main thing that impressed us is that they said not to worry that they weren't going away until the problem was fixed, even if they had to call out factory representatives. Even though this occurred during a hot spell and they were over worked, they came back out at night to work on the system. I doubt they made a lot of money at this job, but they seemed more interested in getting the job done right.

This was a replacement of the mechanical portion of my AC unit. The guys were on time, very courteous and clean. The work was done quickly and is now working very well. The are not the cheapest, but the small additional cost was well worth it given my experiences with other HVAC contractors and the professionalism at Cool Air Technologies. Our central A/C was not doing a great job of cooling the house. I called Cool Air Technologies and left them a message before they opened. The owner's wife, Trish, called me back within 30 minutes. She was very personable and got me on the schedule for the same day. She said her husband Bill, would be the one coming out to look at the A/C and explained that they charge for a service call or waive it if we decide to have any work done at the time of the visit. She also brought up the Angie's List coupon for $20 off without me having to mention it or print it out. Bill called to let me know when he was coming, which was within the quoted time frame. He was professional, polite and personable. He explained everything as he was doing it. He was quick but not rushed and gave me a lot of information about the age, condition and functionality of all of the different parts of the system. He reacharged the system with freon, made adjustments to the air vents and made sure the air flow and temperature were correct. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. My first appt. was cancelled because they were overwhelmed with emergency calls when the first heat wave hit. Since my case wasn't an emergency, I waited to re-schedule. I had called another company (Dicksons) and they said that I needed a new system for about $5800 and were pressuring me to make a quick decision. I decided to have Cool Air Technologies come out because I wanted a second opinion. Bill said that there was nothing wrong with my AC/heating system and just performed a tune-up which cost $145. Bill was extremely professional - he called ahead of time to tell me when he'd be there and was on time. He arrived in a clean vehicle and dressed clean and professionally. He was very respectful of the interior of the house; careful that his shoes were clean and not placing his tools on the floor. He clearly explained what he was going to do and did exactly what he said. I especially liked that he gave me tips on how to make the system run more efficiently and last longer. He also told me where to get filters for half the cost of Home Depot! What I liked most about Bill is that he didn't try and sell me anything I didn't need. I plan on moving and asked if he serviced the area I'm moving to and not only did he say yes, but he offers a pre-purchase appraisal of the new home's A/C system to make sure that there aren't any large, hidden repairs that could be costly, and thus, allowing me to negotiate any estimated costs from the purchase price. This company was wonderful to work with. They were prompt in scheduling an appointment for an estimate and thorough in explaining the work and equipment that was needed when the estimate was done. I couldn't have asked for this to have gone more smoothly, all work took place on time and exactly as described. Everyone with whom we had contact were very professional, straight-forward, and pleasant. And lastly - the AC really really works for the first time since we've owned the house (7+ years). I can only assume that the furnace will work just as well come next winter :) We pass our city of Anaheim inspection with flying colors after all the work was completed, the inspector indicated that the work had all been done to a very high and acceptable standard. In addition, Bill very graciously paid the home protection policy service call charge when the emergency valve on our fairly new water heater failed. It wasn't 100% clear that this had anything to do with the furnace installation (which was right next to the water heater on an elevated wooden platform), but we were surprised and pleased that Bill assumed responsibility for making this right. As a result of the excellent experience with furnace / AC / duct replacement, as well as the easy / prompt resolution of the water heater issue, I can say without a doubt that I would both recommend and use Cool Air Technologies again without any concerns.

This was one great experience. I have a rental unit which had a furnace that all of the sudden broke down. It had been very cold and the family living there had 3 little boys to keep warm. I called Cool Air Tech to come out and take a look and he was very professional and courteous. Bill came out and took a look and told me that the furnace was busted and went through my options. I decided I wanted the furnace to be replaced and I wanted it done that day because I wanted the family to have heat in such cold weather. Bill did not hestitate to make it happen. They by far had the best price, but the service was very inconsistent on who to call. For example id call the installer and get a return call from someone else (his father?) who would then do the service visit. It was a bunch of friendly people, but it made me feel like it was a thrown together operation. I understand there is a company with a similar name that is disputing this report, which is unfortunate, but i'm just reporting what was on my invoice. These folks were based in Huntington Beach, but in defense of the other company these guys seemed to be freelance folks doing something on the side? We went to Angie's list and contacted Bill and Trish. Bill came out immediately and was clean, professional and great with our dogs. Without telling him what the other company had recommended he stated that our systems were clean and in excellent condition. He quickly figured out the issue of the system turning itself on and off by itself was a faulty thermostat.. He replaced both at a cost of 290.00. He also told us where to get the filters directly to save money and gave us a MFG rebate coupon that gets us $40.00 back on the Thermostats. The furances in the two condos that we rent were on a saftey recall list. When we bought the second condo late last year and the property report flagged the furnace, the thermostat, and no secondary drain pan. We hired someone else to check out the furnace and replace the thermostat and the only thing he did was take me for $300. While we were working on the thermostat, the tenant in the other unit said his furnace didn't work in his unit. So, I joined Angie's list and found Cool It Tech from the site. Bill came out and said that both furances and thermostats had to go. He gave us an estimate of $2695 for each unit. Two technicians and Bill came out and it only took them about 3 hr to finish a unit. They were very helpful in instructing everyone on how to operate the new thermostat. They check out the A/C unit in both unit and found that condenser pans were rusting and one of them was clogged and the water was spilling out in the attic and through the secondary drain. Cool It Tech quoted us $600 to fabricate a secondary drain pan and clean the drains for both units. They were patient with us about scheduling the work so it didn't distrub our tenant and fit in our work schedule. They came out on 3/2 and it took them about 1.5 hr to do the job.

From the first call there was quite a bit of time to get them to come out because of workload. When they came out they were on time and efficiently diagnosed the problem and explained everything well. He replaced a blown fuse and checked everything else out as well. This was the 2nd time I have used Cool Air Technologies, and the service was excellent again. Bill and Trish are both professional, helpful, and friendly. My 25 year old furnace finally gave out, so it was time to replace the entire system. Bill scoped out the system, and recommended an A/C and furnace combo that fit the size of my house and my location; he steered me away from more expensive and less reliable systems. Bill's intstallation team, Larry and Gary, were professional and punctual. They came out during the worst heatwave we have had in years but that installed my new AC unit in a single day and it has been working great ever since. They met their schedule and my budget so I was thrilled with the outcome. Even the office staff were friendly, informative and very caring. They called to ensure all was working well. i felt like I had made a new friend. I recommend them for anyone who needs AC or furnace work. They left the work area cleaner than when they started and they explained everything to me so I could actually understand the problems. Everyone was professional and polite, and especially personable. The service was prompt, Bill came by within an hour of our initial call as he was in the area. We were up and running immediately as he replaced the old fuse and gave us the estimated time length of the life of the unit. We had a replacement unit installed within one week. With our new unit we have seen a drastic reduction in our utility bills. We also heard a funny "rustling" sound for about two weeks and we called Bill. He came out, went in the attic and found a piece of packing material that was fluttering in the vent. He also did this "free of charge". Our condo's heat pump stopped working (only blowing air, but w/o any cooling/hearing). We called Cool Air to come over to check. Trish is very friendly. She asked about the symptoms, and helped arrange an appointment in the same day! Bill and his technician came promptly. They quickly found out where the problem is (the outdoor condenser) , and suggested we replace it since it is almost 25 years old. However, their quote is not very competitive. The two technicans from Cool Air arrived at 8:00 am as promised and immediately started removing the old equipment and were very careful to protect everthing in the house (carpet, paint etc.). They worked almost straight through until everthing was installed and completely tested. They were very courteous and clearly explained how to operate the entire system including the new thermostat. Everthing was cleaned up and all the old parts removed before 3:00 pm that day. I was very pleased with the professionalism and quality of workmanship displayed. (Talk about super customer service right from the get go!!) He arrived quickly, was very professional, thorough and trustworthy. Our existing furnace and air condition system was 26 years and failed during one of the warmest weeks of the year. I called and Bill came out to evaluate the problem the following day. The system needed to be replaced and Bill gave us a very competitive bid. The installation was scheduled for two days later. As the installation is as important as the equipment, I checked on the install at several stages of the installation process and I was very impressed. Both the equipment (Rheem and Tempstar) and the installation exceeded my expectations. Cool Air's quote was several hundred dollars less then other quotes. Cool Air Tech already has a lot of great reviews. Bill & Trish were wonderful with the initial contact and job estimate information but I wanted to share my experiences with the installation portion of the process. Larry & Richard, the Cool Air Techs, arrived at my home within 5 minutes of the appointment time. I was curious about the installation as this is the first time I have had this work performed and asked if it was ok to "shadow" them. They were very friendly and allowed me to be a part of the entire process. Larry & RIchard explained each & every step throughout the entire procedure, as well as sharing with me some very useful tips about the AC/Heating units. During my pre-purchase research I read that most of the AC/Heating units are manufactured similarly, but what really makes the difference in the quality of the units performance is the installation. I have to say that this was one of the most through, meticulous, and professional installations of any product I have ever experienced. I first retained the services of Cool Air Technologies when my air conditioning unit stopped producing cool air.  When Bill first came out to my house, he advised I appeared to have a leak in the system.  He advised that he could attempt to seal the leak but that there were no guarantees it would permanently solve the issue.  I appreciated that he did not oversell the repair which did end up holding up for about a year.  Eventually, the system leaked the refrigerant once more and I ultimately decided to replace the entire system as it was almost 15 years old.  I didn't hesitate to call Bill out once more to provide an estimate.  I found the estimate to be fair and ended up hiring him to replace the entire system (AC and furnace). His work crew showed up as promised and were very efficient.  They were professional, polite and careful not to leave a mess behind. The AC system at our new house was not well taken care of, and the old ducting from the 70s utilized asbestos insulation.  Contacted Trish and Bill for an assessment of the system and to quote for (at minimum) an abatement/reduct service. Trish was a pleasure to talk to over the phone and Bill was a straight shooting, no-nonsense old school guy, which I appreciate.  His assessment was that most of our HVAC system was nearly outdated but serviceable. I pestered him with a bunch of questions during his initial visit and he gave me a fair quote. I felt comfortable moving forward and we booked the abatement and HVAC service on consecutive days. We ran into a slight hiccup during the service but that is inevitable when it comes to renovations. Bill communicated appropriately and we wrapped up the project the following day. The work was clean and the team was pleasant to the wife and baby while working on our system. It might seem strange that I'm giving Cool hair Technologies a rating when they didn't even actually service my HVAC. It's because the friendly technician (I think he said his name was Bill) that I spoke to was able to walk me through an issue with my HVAC via a phone call and that ultimately helped me to get my HVAC working again. I'm not suggesting people call them to get free advice since they need to make money to stay in business; I wanted to put my 5-star rating out there because I want to let others know that Cool Air Technologies is someone they can rely on to do honest work. When Bill arrived he simply asked some questions about what we were looking for and walked our home an discussed some options and explained what his company would do if we chose them, said he would have a quote to us within a few business days (he came out on a Friday). There was absolutely no upselling or if you don't do this it will cost you more etc., no games or tag teaming with other employees into trying to pressure us into committing, none of that just a genuinely nice professional business man offering his companies services should we choose to accept. Later that same day in the evening we actually got the quote from Bill and had absolutely no hesitation in signing the contract to do business with him.  He was even able to fit us into the schedule the following week. Our first step in the process was to have our old duct work that had asbestos removed.  As schedule that company arrived, very courteous and professional.  They took precautions to protect our home where they were walking and proceeded to get to work.  Everything was done in just about an hour (we have a 1100 sq. ft home). Install day was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a company coming in to my home.  The team was led by Rafael and his two sons Ezra and Marcus and Rafael's brother Nicho.  Everyone was so polite and respectful not only to us but to each other, they worked together like a well-oiled machine everyone knew what they had to do to get us up and running. Very neat and respectful of our home. My husband and I really enjoyed talking with them throughout the day. When everything was completed Rafael made sure we were happy with the work and the few things we did ask about he took care of immediately. Later that evening we did notice a little noise coming from one of the vents so we talk to Trish the next day and she had Bill reach out to us and he set up a time to come out and check the noise out for us.  It was nothing detrimental.  He was a here mid-day Monday and fixed it. I could go on writing more but I think it's clear how we feel about finding Cool Air Technologies in our quest to replace our HVAC. They were great. Our heater went out unexpectedly. Bill came quickly and was very knowledgeable while he walked the house for the quote. He pointed out all of the different areas that can be improved with the whole system and made sure to point out what would work best for the system including where we can save money. He wasn't trying to up sell for the sake of getting money, but instead what would work best for us. He was able to switch his schedule to come out quicker then expected to switch out a new AC and heater unit. It was a hot Sunday night in June when we heard a strange noise coming from our backyard. We discovered our AC unit was on but the fan was not turning.  We have used Cool Air Technologies for all our AC needs and called Bill on Monday morning. He was out the same day to investigate the cause. We discussed possible fixes but as our system was over 30 years old, realized that these short term fixes may be money down the drain. We opted for a new system including the coil and condenser. The price was extremely competitive compared to other quotes we received.  Two days later Bill and his crew were on site to perform the work. The work was done expertly and by the end of the day we were enjoying our new system. Over the past few months we have noticed a dramatic decrease in our electricity usage when the AC is on and the system is so efficient in cooling it doesn't have to run as long as in the past. We are so happy we decided to go with the new unit. Whereas I didn't use this company, I spoke with the owner doing research and getting all around information. His prices were on par if not lower than others. We need more people like Bill and his wife Trish. Ultimately, the service I need, Bill does not handle. Within 2 hours of my request for quotes via Yelp, Bill and I connected via Yelp messenger and over the phone. We tentatively scheduled Tuesday (7/6/2021) for him to check out my heating/cooling needs. Bill asked questions like if my AC unit was in a closet, by the hallway... etc.. 1st floor, or two stories. In my non-professional brain, I'm not really certain why these questions matter. I decided to send him photos of my current unit. Turns out I have a hydronic system, a system that will require someone that does plumbing. Condenser? R22 v. R410a???.. very foreign words. I'm always happy to give positive reviews, and Bill is most deserving. I called a few companies after-hours when I came home to find my A/C had stopped working, and Bill returned my call within minutes--the only one to call me back that evening. He said he could be out the next day within a certain time frame, and he was right on time. He diagnosed the problem quickly (it was a relatively simple fix), gave me some tips to get the most life out of the older unit I have, and when I asked for a price to replace it for when that day comes, he gave me a reasonable and competitive estimate. I called Cool Air to fix an issue where my HVAC system wasn't blowing air at all, and also had an incident where something shorted and had an electric smell coming in from the vents. I had a feeling this would be an issue with a blown capacitor or something, so I needed someone to take a look.I called Cool Air after finding them on Yelp, and quickly got a response/call from Bill, and scheduled him to come take a look a few days out.Bill and Larry arrived on time to take a look, quickly diagnosed the issue (it was a capacitor that died) replaced it on the spot, did a cleaning, and gave me some advice and some good care tips for the system for the future. They were both incredibly friendly and professional, gave reasonable prices and suggestions rather than upcharge or add not needed services, and wore masks. All in all my HVAC system was back to an operational state in about an hour.I told Bill in person I was incredibly happy with their services, so I decided to leave a review as well. I highly recommend Bill and his team!  We had air conditioning installed to our existing central heating system. For this project we had 6 different AC contractors come out and give their spiels on what we needed and why.  Out of all the different contractors that came and assessed our home, Bill was the most informative and most friendly. He and his team took the time to answer all of my questions and expressed what the best system would be for our needs and allowed me to test out his theories on his recommendations.  On the first day of installation we had some asbestos ducting removed by a company that Cool Air had partnered with, but the asbestos remediation team was 15 minutes late (not their fault, GPS drops people off one block away from our actual address for some reason).  When they were late, I called Cool Air to check in and their office admin had told me that they would follow up to check to see where the remediation team was. Afterwards, I immediately received a call from Bill (the owner) and he personally made sure that we got taken care of! Talk about great customer service. On the day of our installation (our project was 2 days because of remediation), Bill's team was not only fast, but they all wore their masks while in our home and made virtually little to no mess as they laid out floor coverings and collected dust as they worked on our home. To give an example of how they kept our home clean, as they were cutting out our ceiling to add more ducting, one person was in the attic cutting while another was under the ceiling with a catch bucket collecting all the dust.  After having contractors in and out of our new home for two weeks we realized the importance of not having to do extra to clean up after they leave messes. Our system is running amazing and I'm so glad that we got it done with Cool Air. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a new / upgrading their ac system to check out Cool Air Technologies. True to Murphy's law, it happened during a heat wave when the temperature was trending in the triple digits. I called a few companies and received some quotes. Trish was very friendly and scheduled someone to look at my system right away. Bill, the owner, came out and did a thorough walk-thru of my existing system. Outstanding customer service!! AC never goes out when it's a bit warm outside, or with some slightly uncomfortable heat. It always goes out on the hottest day of the decade or during some record breaking heat wave. Well I surely thought it happened to us again. Brutal heat wave and condenser stops working and no cold air.I reach out to multiple companies but Cool Air Technologies gets back to me right away. While they were totally slammed, Trish contacted me right away and did everything she could to get us on the schedule asap. She also recommended several of their competitors who may have been able to get to us even quicker! While I am certain this company would do a good job at what they do. The owner came personally. He was a gentleman and seem to be thorough. They get good reviews for the work they do. But, this man was not interested in repairing my A/C. He was interested in the big ticket item of a complete replacement. Quoted me close to $10,000 for the job. Said just the Freon alone was $1700.  I was stunned. A week later had my A/C repaired in less than two hours for almost a thousand dollars less than just the cost of Freon in the quote from Cool Air. $750. Bill and his crew came out and gave me a quote for new HVAC for our 1,400 sq. ft. condo. They came out and did a very thorough walkthrough and even went into the attic. I already had two other estimates and those guys just walked in my front door and throughout a ballpark number without out even going upstairs into my attic. Bill's quote was very fair, he is honest and there was no pressure. After mulling it over for a few weeks we decided to hire Cool Air Technologies. They showed up on time, they completed the entire install of our new HVAC and new ductwork in 1 day. They were very clean and you didn't even know they were there. I can't recommend this company enough and refer people to them every chance I get! My compressor on my a/c went out and they assessed, diagnosed and repaired the unit within an hour. Bill is a Saint. Came out on one day notice for an appointment on Christmas Eve. So happy we found Cool Air Technologies. Honest, friendly, knowledgeable...that is how I would describe Bill and Larry. We thought we were having a problem with our AC...it turned out we needed a plumber. If it wasn't for Bill and Larry finding where the leak was coming from we would of called a roofer next instead of a plumber! They thoroughly checked our air conditioner and gave us some good tips on how to maintain and keep it clean. We now have an honest, reliable company we can call in the future to service our AC.
